We arrive at Cottonwood Campground late morning and nice and toasty.

Jason decides a plunge in Bright Angel Creek is in order.

At that water temperature, he's a better man than us- that water was COLD.

Now you know why people shouldn't drink the water from the creek!

"Say that again Bagwell, and I'll come over there and slap you."

Dinner time at Cottonwood after a swim and a nap for all the geezers.  The freeze dried ice cream was a hit.

Ah, morning already?  We got a VERY early start our last morning, so we could hike out while it was still cool.

The skies at night in the Grand Canyon were indescribable.

Here's Jason, Tom and Colby packing up their gear and getting ready to hit the trail.

Jason, Colby and Tony crossing Bright Angel on a large suspension footbridge after about 45 minutes of uphill hiking.

We had a thin crescent moon rising as we hiked- so it was pretty dark!

Morning along the North Kaibab.  Some down hikers took this photo of all of us along the side of the trail.

Jason Gaston, Ross Statham, Colby Strom, Tony Bagwell and Tom Dillon.

It was great hiking through the different layers of the Canyon as we hiked out.  This section's really striking orange sandstone.

"We there yet?"

"Where?"

"Slurp."

Jason, Tom & Robo-Hiker taking a quick break.

One of Tony Bagwell's best shots of the trip-- a nice shot of a needle in one of the upper limestone layers of the north rim at about 9 am.  Getting close to the top, guys!

Ross taking a photo back down the way we came.

The packs looked big, but they were actually very light.  Geezer Trek 1999 packs weighed about 50 pounds, while these packs only weighed 24-28 each.

Some down hikers took this shot of all of us about 30 minutes from the top.  Colby Strom, Tony Bagwell, Ross Statham, Jason Gaston and Tom Dillon.

Keep smiling, Jason!

You know what Grand Canyon hikers look at most of the hike?

Mule poop.

Ah, the sweet smell of success.

Tom Dillon, Ross Statham and Colby Strom enjoy a cold Coke at the North Rim store, elevation 8300 feet.

Got in to the north rim at about 10 am- an easy morning's work.
